GE Lighting equips Gulangyu with LED street lights to protect the island's ecological landscape

Recently, GE Lighting replaced the traditional high-pressure sodium lamps on Gulangyu with LED Iberia for more efficient lighting effects. LED Iberia is a versatile outdoor lighting product with many advantages such as simple shape, energy saving and good light quality.

On Gulangyu, GE lighting solutions consisting of 584 LED Iberia will replace existing sodium lamps that have been in use for nearly eight years. The GE 90 watt LED Iberia has a luminous efficiency of 90 lm/W, while the 150 watt high pressure sodium lamp has a luminous efficiency of only 50 lm/W.

In terms of operations, GE's LED Iberia solution is estimated to save nearly $10,000 in energy use and maintenance costs annually. From an environmental point of view, the energy saved is equivalent to eliminating about 53,850 kilograms of carbon dioxide vehicle emissions, or protecting 89.33 acres of trees.
