In 2014, IT spending in China will exceed 2 trillion yuan
On January 7, according to Gartner's latest outlook report from global technology research and consulting firm, global IT spending is expected to reach US$3.8 trillion in 2014, an increase of 3.1% compared to the US$3.7 trillion spent in 2013. IT spending in Asia Pacific is expected to reach US$785 billion in 2014, 4.2% higher than in 2013. China's IT spending is expected to reach 2.13 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.73% over 2013. Although global IT terminal equipment, including personal computers, ultrabooks, mobile phones, and tablets, shrank by 1.2% in 2013, it is expected to reach US$697 billion in 2014, an increase of 4.3%. Gartner analysts said that the differentiation will be decided soon based on the price rather than on the specific task of equipment, personal computers, ultrabooks (including tablet computers) and mobile phones will tend to converge, and profits will be eroded.
Throughout the forecast period, corporate software spending continues to be the strongest growth area. The growth rate in 2014 is expected to be 6.8%. Among them, customer relationship management and supply chain management (SCM) showed strong growth.
