New compact power supply R&S NGE100 with multi-channel switching and versatile over-power protection

Munich, March 14, 2017 – Rohde & Schwarz has released a new line of power supplies, the dual-channel R&S NGE102 and the three-channel R&S NGE103. These rugged instruments are easy to use and are perfect for a wide range of applications – from educational institutions to R&D labs to production lines. Fan control ensures that the instrument is muted. This family of power supplies delivers 33.6W of high power and low ripple per channel. It also provides an output voltage of up to 32V per channel and an output current of 3A.
The extra features of the R&S NEG100 are several easy-to-use items that are not available in the same price range. All channels are completely electrically isolated, ungrounded, and electrically equivalent, so there is no grounding problem even with complex switching operations. Users can configure channels in series or in parallel. The supply voltage can be as high as 64V in two-channel series and 96V in three channels. When each channel is switched to parallel, the instrument provides up to 6A of current on both channels and three channels up to 9A.
The maximum current, voltage and power on each channel can be configured
The R&S NGE100 offers very flexible protection options. The user can set the maximum value of voltage, current and power independently for each channel. Electronic fuses can be linked to other channels. Once a channel reaches the limit, all linked channels will be closed at the same time. The user can define a delayed response time to prevent the power supply from shutting down when a short circuit current spike occurs.
Program control function for rack integrated installation
The small, streamlined power supply can be used in both test bench environments and 19-inch racks (using rack adapters). These power supplies can be remotely controlled via an integrated USB interface or an optional LAN/wireless network interface. Digital trigger options are also available. Only a string of license codes is required to activate.
