Sensor tags record and store process values ​​such as temperature or pressure of moving components. Sensor elements can be replaced and can also be used to measure humidity, magnetic fields, reed contact or inductive signals. The sensor tag is powered and read by a high-frequency RFID read/write head. Using a separate energy source, data can be recorded even without touching the read/write head. Depending on the frequency and type of measurement, as well as the environmental variables, the measurement period can be continuously recorded for several hours.
Turck's sensor tags are suitable not only for non-contact monitoring and storage of measured values ​​or other data, but also for moving components. The component is connected to a slip ring device with a high maintenance rating. For example rotor identification, specific process parameters can be stored. In addition, they can perform non-contact collection of data inside or in sealed containers. Users can also use conventional RFID capabilities to identify targets in a conventional way.
