TE ConnecTIvity (TE)'s new Sliver internal cable interconnect system provides a solution that delivers unprecedented flexibility in high-speed systems to meet the challenges of increased data rates. It is flexible and provides the best signal integrity while saving space and reducing design costs.

The Sliver Internal Cable Interconnect System is the leading product line for internal I/O connectivity in high-speed data centers and boards within networked devices. With a terminal pitch of only 0.6 mm, Sliver products are ultra-slim and can be inserted deeper into the junction box. In addition to the card edge configuration, TE also provides a highly reliable metal jacket design for the connector housing to help protect against cable pull, while the active latch further enhances connection security.

This new connectivity technology eliminates the need for retimers and lower-loss but more expensive PCB materials, and uses TE high-speed cables for speeds up to 25 Gbps, simplifying design and helping reduce overall cost. Sliver products are suitable for a wide range of applications, data rates and protocols (PCI Express, SAS, Ethernet).
