Bid farewell to expensive and finally able to play Oculus Rift on a cheap PC
The Verge Chinese Station reported on November 12
Occulus recently introduced a new feature that minimizes the Rift's configuration requirements so that the helmet can be run on a cheap PC. Oculus said in a blog post that the newly added feature is called "Asynchronous Spacewarp". This feature allows VR content to run at half the normal frame rate. Its visual effects are as good as 90hz rendering. After the new features were introduced, Rift supported more computers.
Last month, Oculus revealed the "Asynchronous Spacewarp" message at the Connect conference. The CEO of Oculus told The Verge that Rift's recommended configuration has not changed and is the same as before, and the recommended configuration provides the best experience. According to the original requirements, the PC needs to install at least the Nvidia GTX 970 or the same level of graphics card, equipped with the latest Core i5 processor, and now the threshold is lowered, and the GTX 960 and i3 processors will be installed. Please note that at least 8GB of memory is required.
PCs that meet the recommended configuration require $1,000 or more, and users can now purchase a pre-built CyberPowerPC that meets the minimum configuration requirements for $499. Prior to this upgrade, Oculus also released the Touch controller, which will ship on December 6th. (Author: Adi Robertson compile: Castle in the Sky)
