The dual-channel USBCAN device is one of the necessary tools for CAN bus development engineers. When you suspect that the dual-channel USBCAN analyzer in your hand is damaged or you want to spontaneously receive and familiarize yourself with the function of the device, you can complete the detection and simulation. Some minor problems may be encountered in the simulation. I will use a case I recently encountered to sort out the specific operation process for you.

Case restoration

Recently, Master Wang from an automobile repair shop in Shandong contacted me and said: I just received a dual-channel USBCAN-II Pro analyzer purchased from your company. Before using it, I want to self-check the basic transceiver of the device according to the method on the device manual. Features. However, both channels showed that the transmission failed, and the lower right corner of the ECANTools software reported "bus data error" in red. I don't know what caused it. (As shown below)

It can be seen from the above two pictures that Master Wang’s wiring is correct, and a terminal resistance has also been added, but the baud rates of CAN1 and CAN2 channels are not set to the same (1000/800) when using the software to open the device. , Which led to the failure of sending and receiving data between CAN1 and CAN2. After instructing Master Wang to set the baud rate of the CAN1 and CAN2 channels to be the same, it will be normal to send and receive data again.

1. Connect the H of the CAN1 channel to the H of the CAN2 channel, connect the L of the CAN1 channel to the L of the CAN2 channel, turn the DIP switch to ON, use the USB square port line to connect the analyzer to the computer, and wire As shown below:

Install the driver and open the software

Install the ECAN Tools software and device driver, and check whether the USBCAN driver in the computer device manager is normal.

Open the ECAN Tools software, select the corresponding device type and click "Open Device". After successfully opening the device interface, the information of the currently connected device will be displayed;

Configure CAN1 channel: working mode is "normal mode", baud rate is "1000K";

Configure CAN2 channel: working mode is "normal mode", baud rate is "1000K" (double channel baud rate value is the same)

After both channels are configured, click "OK" to enter the ECANtools software, as shown in the figure below:

In the CAN1 channel tab, click the "send" button at the bottom of the software, CAN1 will send several pieces of data to the bus, and then switch to the CAN2 channel tab to see if the data sent by all CAN1 channels are successfully received; CAN2 sends to CAN1 The same is true for data, as shown in the figure below:

If the two channels send and receive data normally, the equipment can be judged to be in good condition.
