IOTA and Audi have reached a cooperation to discuss the application areas of IoT technology
According to a report by Finance Magnates on Monday (July 30), IOTA continues to explore use cases for the Internet of Things, this time in cooperation with luxury car manufacturer Audi.
In 2018, you can apply for free for the blue book of foreign exchange precious metals. To be specific, the company’s partner is Audi think tank Denkwerkstatt ("Thinking Workshop"), which is the company's research department. According to the official IOTA blog, the two entities will collaborate to build a prototype of a “permissionless mobile ecosystemâ€.
The Denkwerkstatt team consists of 22 Audi employees who are experimenting with new business models. The team will have a week to work with IOTA, after which they will provide their "low-level prototypes" to customers.
Audi is a German car manufacturer and a member of the Volkswagen Group. It was founded in 1910 by the engineer August Horch. He called the company Audi, because he had already established a company named after him in 1899, and the new owner of the company did not allow him to copy the name.
Today, the company's market value is 31.1 billion euros (36.4 billion US dollars).
According to data from coinmarketcap.com, IOTA is a blockchain with a market value of $2.7 billion. It was launched in 2015 with the purpose of creating the Internet of Things, a system in which physical items such as household appliances and industrial machinery are connected and controlled via the Internet.
It runs on a network called "the Tangle", and it runs very fast because every transaction automatically adds a data block to the chain, which is verified by a small group of nodes.
This is not the first example of a car manufacturer using blockchain technology. Toyota began experimenting with blockchain technology in May 2017 to develop self-driving cars. In February 2018, BMW partnered with a company called Vechain Thor, which uses blockchain technology in supply chain management.
As far as the development of IOTA is concerned, IOTA demonstrated industrial applications at Hannover Messe in April 2018. Messe is an industrial trade show with thousands of exhibitors and thousands of attendees.
In June of this year, IOTA released the vague details of a major new project called Qubic, which appears to be a so-called "oracle" to connect the chaotic and real world interface. It will also allow people to outsource their calculations, and will often find wider uses in smart contracts.
