Samsung announces the launch of new home theater speakers in conjunction with Harman Kardon

In the afternoon of August 15th, Samsung announced today that it has joined hands with Harman Kardon to launch a new home theater speaker with a shared brand.

Samsung acquired Harman International for US$8 billion in March 2017, thus winning JBL, AKG, HarmanKardon, Infinity and other well-known audio brands in one fell swoop. At present, AKG has been used in a number of Samsung flagship mobile phones.

This is the first time Samsung has participated in the Harman Kardon brand. The new products are HW-N950 and HW-N850 soundbar, which support DTS:X and Dolby panoramic sound effects.

Specifically, HW-N950 includes a main sound bar, four traditional speakers, and 2 wireless surround speakers. Among them, the main sound bar has a built-in wireless subwoofer and rear speaker kit to form the current top 7.1.4 Dolby surround sound field. The effect is shocking.

According to Dolby’s definition, 7 represents the number of traditional surround speakers (front, center and surround), 1 represents how many powered subwoofers can be connected to the receiver, and 4 represents in the Dolby Atmos setting, The number of top or upward sounding speakers.

The HW-N850 has 5.1.2 channels and will be available on August 20.
