Agilent pushes next-generation storage and telecommunications device and system test solutions
Agilent Storage Telecom
Agilent Technologies has introduced three new measurement solutions for testing next-generation storage and telecom devices and systems. These new solutions are based on the existing Agilent 86100C Digital Communications Analyzer (DCA), which allows engineers to easily virtualize their latest device and system designs and accurately quantify the quality of their designs. New measurement solutions include:
(1) Integrated 16X Fibre Channel Receiver: The Agilent 86105D20-GHz optical/35-GHz electrical plug-in module is designed to accurately analyze optical transmission and reception at 8X or 16X Fibre Channel and 10-GbSONET/SDH/Ethernet rates. Waveform of the device. This integrated optical receiver provides unfiltered bandwidth above 20 GHz and a standard compliant switchable reference receiver.
(2) Advanced jitter analysis software: Agilent's 86100C option 401 software allows engineers to analyze jitter on random and long data patterns, including the PRBS31 pattern. Engineers can use the software to easily test the transmitter and generate test signals to verify receiver performance. Option 401 software can extract waveforms from the Agilent 86100C DCA using an external PC. It allows engineers to divide jitter into random and deterministic components to evaluate total jitter and eye structure.
(3) Composite modulation signal analysis software: The new software for Agilent 86100CDCA provides signal analysis for advanced optical communication technology. The 8.1 version allows the analyzer to convert the receiver's output to an IQ map, enabling engineers to easily virtualize the receiver's ability to detect composite modulated signals.
