On the detection method of relay
A relay is a device that uses the effect of current to close or open a circuit, and is used for active maintenance and active control. In most cases, the relay is an electromagnet, the armature of this electromagnet can close or open one or several contact points. When a current passes through the winding of the electromagnet, the armature is attracted by the electromagnet, thus changing the condition of the contact.
Our commonly used relays are electromagnetic relays, solid state relays, time relays, temperature relays, etc. Briefly introduce the detection methods of relays:
1. Check the relay coil: adjust the multimeter to "R * 100" or R * 1K ", two test leads (regardless of positive or negative) are connected to the two pins of the relay, the multimeter indicates that it should be consistent with the coil resistance of the relay, If the resistance value is significantly lower, it means that the coil is short-circuited. If the resistance value is zero, it means that there is a short circuit between the two coil pins; if the resistance value is infinite, it means that the coil has been disconnected. The above three conditions all explain that the relay is now damage.
2. Check the relay contacts: Connect the regular operating voltage to the relay coil, and use a multimeter "R * 1K" to detect the on and off status of the contacts. When the operating voltage is not added, the normally open contacts should not be connected, and the normally closed contacts should be conductive ,, when the working voltage is added, the relay sound should be heard, the normally open point should be turned on at this moment, the normally closed point should not be connected, and the conversion contact should be converted accordingly, otherwise the relay is damaged, for multiple sets of contact relays If some of the contacts are damaged, the remaining contacts can still be used normally.
