Time: The total number of mobile subscribers in China is close to 700 million. The potential market size of TD terminals is considerable. This is also an important reason why China Mobile can successfully promote the industrial chain and promote the rapid development of terminals.

After the commercialization of TD-SCDMA in 2009, under the strong promotion of China Mobile, through the joint efforts of all sectors of the industry chain, the construction and optimization of TD-SCDMA network is basically perfect, and the "terminal-chip" restricts the development of TD-SCDMA. The bottleneck problem has been solved fundamentally. At present, all chip manufacturers have chips and solutions from low-end functional machines to high-end smart phones. More and more domestic and foreign terminal manufacturers have entered the field of TD-SCDMA terminals, and many "excellent machines" have emerged. ". Terminal chip development is slower due to two points

Time: In the development of TD-SCDMA, the lag of terminal chips has seriously affected the development of the industry. With the development experience of TD-SCDMA, the Institute of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Mobile have repeatedly emphasized the urgency of accelerating the development of terminal chips at the beginning of TD-LTE development. The chip will face various frequency bands from 800MHz to 2.6GHz, various formats from GSM to TD-LTE, and various data rate services from voice to video interaction. In the first phase of the TD-LTE scale experiment, 11 chip manufacturers and a number of terminal manufacturers have participated. For the development of TD-LTE terminal chips, it may be most important for manufacturers to see the return. TD-LTE can be used first in local areas and hotspots where high-speed data needs are relatively strong, both in terms of technical conditions and industrial conditions. This way manufacturers will not only invest but also see returns, which will drive the development of terminal chips.

TD-LTE is a technology with independent intellectual property rights in China, so TD-LTE has unique advantages in many fields in China. For example, in areas such as security, video surveillance, urban emergency warning, public security, etc., which are related to national and social security, TD-LTE is naturally considered to be the first choice. Time: At present, China's TD-LTE has made gratifying progress, but there is still a certain distance from commercial use. In general, the development of TD-LTE is healthy, and the development speed is normal, in line with the law of industrial development. However, it can also be seen that compared with the commercial use of FDD, China's TD-LTE is still in the stage of scale trial, and there is still a long way to go from commercial use. How fast we can go.

In general, a network needs to undergo large-scale networking experiments and a large number of users before commercial use. At present, China's TD-LTE has not yet experienced such a test.

Before TD-LTE is commercialized, it needs to break through in several aspects. First, in terms of terminal chips, it is necessary to develop smart terminal chips that support multi-mode, multi-service, multi-band, and at the same time cheap and low power consumption. Second, in terms of testing, the current solutions for business simulation test systems are still lacking. There are not many manufacturers that can develop mature and reliable high-speed data service simulation test systems at home and abroad. The TD-LTE service type and application scenario are very complex, and the requirements for the service simulation test system are very urgent. Third, in terms of large-scale networking, China Mobile has proposed a “four-network collaboration” strategy, which poses new challenges in hybrid networking. At the same time, the gap between the scale network test and the real large-scale commercial network is relatively large. It seems that the mature system equipment still needs to be improved and adjusted in the face of commercial use. Fourth, the resource issue is the frequency issue. Although the radio management department has made great efforts, the frequency bands currently assigned to the TD-LTE service are still not ideal.
