Chuang Tong Lian Tong and Qualcomm push Xi Long 835 VR machine from Baidu VR

At this MWC conference, Thundercomm released a new integrated heads-up platform, the TurboX VR DK1.

Based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the TurboX VR DK1 is part of the "HMD Accelerator Program" between the two companies. The program is designed for OEMs that want to develop their own heads-up so that they can choose from a set of pre-certified components, including the Thundercomm VR HMD platform based on the Snapdragon 835.

With the latest Snapdragon VRDK V2.0, the reference design utilizes sensor fusion algorithms up to 1000Hz; high-performance OLED screens; new ASW algorithm (reduced system latency to 15ms or less); and 3D audio for higher performance Immersion. The TurboX VR DK1 also integrates eye tracking technology to take advantage of point-of-view rendering technology to reduce the GPU's performance load.

Larry Geng, chairman of ChuangTongLian, said: “ChuangTongLianDa has great advantages in the field of chips and operating systems. ChuangTongLian specializes in providing end-to-end intelligent hardware solutions for ODM/OEM manufacturers. ChuangTong LianDa is a system. Experts in optimization, sensor fusion, low latency, distortion correction, etc. I believe that the successful launch of the TurboX VR DK1 reference platform will create great opportunities for start-ups and accelerate the development of the VR industry."

Hugo Swart, senior director of product management at Qualcomm, stated: “We have a strong relationship with Suntron in the non-smartphone business with Opteron processors and are pleased to combine their software, modules and stand-alone HMD products. This collaboration extends to VR. The TurboX VR DK1 will be a powerful tool to help OEMs and other ecosystems quickly produce high-quality products."
