Ministry of Commerce: Electrical and Electronics Exports Increased by 6.1% in August

In August, sales of household appliances and audio-video equipment rose by 0.8% year-on-year from 3,000 key retailers monitored by the Ministry of Commerce, and they continued to increase after April.

According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, in August, total retail sales of consumer goods reached 1,665.9 billion yuan, a nominal increase of 13.2% year-on-year, 0.1 percentage points higher than the previous month, and a real increase of 12.1% after deducting price factors. From January to August, the total retail sales of consumer goods in the country reached 131,191.5 billion yuan, a nominal increase of 14.1% year-on-year. After deducting price factors, the actual growth was 11.4%, which was 0.1 percentage point higher than the same period of last year.

The export of electromechanical products has grown steadily. From January to August, China's export of mechanical and electrical products was 748.84 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 8.3%, which was 1.2 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of foreign trade exports over the same period. Among them, electrical and electronic products exported 299.95 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.1%.
