Micromirror
In DMD chips, micromirrors are the smallest unit of work and the key to their performance. Micromirrors are very small in size, but still have a complex mechanical structure different from liquid crystals - each micromirror has a separate support frame and is deflected by +/- 12° around the hinged oblique axis. For micro-mirrors such as micro-mirrors, traditional mechanical or hydraulic control is no longer available (even if it can be used, it can be quickly damaged by mechanical wear), so two electrodes are placed at the two corners of the micro-mirror, and the voltage is passed. Control control deflection for high precision control and unlimited polarization lifetime.

The micro-mirror works by reflecting light, and its deflection capability is the key. As shown in the above figure, this is a working diagram of a micro-mirror with a deflection angle of +/- 12°. When the micro-mirror is on (On State, +12°), the incident angle of the incident light (light source) reaches 12°, and the reflection angle is also 12° (the sum of the two is 24°). At this time, the maximum light energy is (255, 255, 255); When the micromirror is off (Off State, -12°), the light received by the lens becomes smaller and smaller. When it reaches the off state, the brightness is the lowest, which is (0, 0, 0).
